12 Days a'crashing
CRASH is a charity that assists homelessness and hospice charities with construction related projects, creating places that care for people. CDP has supported CRASH for several years with donations generated from our own Christmas Cryptic Pop Quiz.
Devise, write and animate the 2019 e-Christmas Card to help the charity raise money as part of their Christmas campaign.
- Put a CRASH ‘spin’ on the traditional carol’s lyrics
- Enable CRASH’s patrons and supporters to use a branded, on-line version of this animation, making donations in lieu of buying Christmas cards
- Provide a one minute long version with soundtrack for CRASH to host on their server
- Include a brussel sprout (not really, we made that bit up)
After storyboarding and content was agreed with the CRASH team, we used a combination of Cinema 4D and stock photography to develop the animation, adding colour, texture and lighting. Creating the ‘alternative’ lyrics was a lot of fun, being a joint effort between CDP and client. Finally a local musician recorded a piano version of the ’12 Days’ carol, in a defined time sequence.
The e-Christmas card has been a great success by CRASH and their patrons and supporters. An integral part of the CRASH Christmas campaign, which to date has raised over £62K.
