The words comprehensive, definitive, even bible are often employed to describe large design manuals. At nearly 800 pages, ‘Insulation Solutions for Buildings’ qualifies for all three of these descriptions. Its size is not what makes this book unique, however, it is its content and structure.
Flowing from the comprehensive re-organisation of Knauf Insulation’s Marketing Department to reflect Approved Document L of the Building Regulations, at the core of Insulation Solutions for Buildings are four sections focused on ‘Residential new build’ (L1A), ‘Residential refurbishment’ (L1B), Non-residential new build (L2A), and Non-residential refurbishment (L2B).
The specifier can go straight to his or her sector of interest, use ‘design optimisers’ to assessthe thermal (or acoustic or fire) efficiency of wide-ranging constructions and then on to many hundreds of design solutions demonstrating how to achieve them.
